LILY

Pretty, slighty chubby, declawed girl, Lily is sweet and affectionate. She has a short-haired tabby coat that she keeps very neat and well-groomed. We think she is about 12 years old.

Lily is a cat that knows her own mind. She’s not a pushover and will keep her dignity at all times. She does not like other cats around. They make her irritable. She is said to do fine with respectful dogs. She prefers that her space is her space and her people be her people. She loves to sleep on the bed with her humans. She’s not annoying in any way, does not demand attention when you are otherwise occupied. Doesn’t cause trouble and knows exactly how to behave in a home with a family. She is great at being there when you need her, providing snuggles that make you feel like a million bucks. But she also loves her own space and time to do things, like stroll around outside on nice days or take naps on a favorite chair.

If you are looking for the perfect cat who will be your companion and beloved family, and who causes no trouble at all, ever, Lily will be the best!

TIMMY

Just like Garfield, Timmy the orange tabby will steal your heart – not your lasagna! Timothy is about 6-7 years old, a sweet boy looking for snuggles and a sweet household of humans to pure and sleep with (errr on!)

Timmy is gregarious, loving, and well suited for a family with young children. His foster family has a rambunctious 9 year old who has carried him around and Timmy has never scratched, not even once. He’ll even let you rub his belly. He is well suited to be indoors, but is outside curious and must have a good yard in his new home. He has done fine with other nice cats.  His foster family has one elder, well behaved dog and Timmy is able to coexist peacefully – although he prefers his loft and high perches. He’s getting braver every day, and has so much love to give!

He’s located in Homer and ready for his furever home. Call 907 980-8898

TOOTHLESS

Gorgeous ebony panther, Toothless is a terrific guy.

He’s a lover. Totally cuddly, affectionate with people, he is a lap sitter, purr master, the guy you want to spend a long rainy day snuggled up with. He does great with most other cats and dogs too. He’s good buds with some of the cats in his foster home. And fine with the dogs. But every once in a while he gets a wild hair and decides to start a tussle. It’s possible that he is a little overwhelmed in the foster home with so many cats and dogs and we think he will be more even in a home with just a few other animals.

He loves to go outside and will absolutely need a good hunting area either in a yard with trees and bushes to explore or a near woods. He and his cat friends like to check things out and make sure the home lands are safe and free from invaders, like voles and shrews.

We think Toothless might be 4 or 5 years old. He is full of all the exuberance and joy of youth while knowing the ropes of living well in a happy family.

(He recently was shaved so he’s a little embarrassingly naked in parts at the moment.)

TODD

Todd, or Baby Todd as we’ve been calling him most of the time even though he’s quite a big guy, is the sweetest boy. He’s lived much of his adult life with chronic pain due to a condition called entropion. Since his eye surgery, his true personality has started to emerge.

He loves to play but is still getting used to those playful urges so he tends to get overwhelmed pretty quickly, but he recovers fast and is ready to play again within minutes. He’s overly submissive with other cats and would do well with welcoming cats or just on his own. He’s been initially aggressive with dogs, possibly due to interactions with dogs while he was a stray, but he’s been adjusting well to our very calm 80 lb pointer mix. That being said he may be okay with calm dogs who are used to cats, but he’s also a very typical cat in that he will lie in wait on the stairs just to freak out the dog.

Since his surgery, Todd has become a lot more snuggly with humans. He’ll love following you around to see what you’re doing (especially to the kitchen or bathroom) and he’ll snuggle with you/near you when he’s not taking his midday nap. Since he’s used to being outside and has gotten used to the luxury of living inside, he’d do best with a family who’d allow him to be an inside/outside cat. He’s also good on a harness. Todd loves squeeze tube wet treats and hates crunchy or stick treats. He primarily eats dry food but loves wet food as well. He’s happy to beg for human food although he’s only ever really happy with a bit of ham. Nicknames include: Little Buddy, Little Baby Todd, Pretty Boy”. We think he ‘s about 3 years old.

MERLIN

Merlin, a beautiful blue-eyed Flame Point Siamese, has done a complete 180 since being brought into foster from a horrible hoarding situation.  He started out terrified, he would hardly move and made absolutely no sounds, basically petrified in place.  It took a long time but once he decided he could trust people he became another cat!

Merlin is blind. You would hardly know that he can’t see. He cruises around with no problem, in fact, one of the first places he figured out how to get to was up on a very high bed because this boy LOVES to snuggle! He works overtime in the biscuit factory, begs for pets, meows for attention, seeks out your lap on the couch, all of the sweet things! He also likes his alone time too, finding little hidey holes to chill in occasionally but for the most part, he is the king of the bed!

You don’t need an alarm clock with this guy around, he will let you know feeding time is here and in the sweetest way. He flips and flops around on his back asking for pets and rubs his sweet little face all over you so you don’t forget its time to eat!  His favorite pastime is to play, it is adorable to watch as he brings his favorite toys to the middle of a room so he has the most space to play and hopefully not lose track of his toy of choice.  Sometimes he does though, so the system his fosters have set up is to gather up all his toys a few times a day and put them in his favorite hang-out spot so he can always go grab another, it works great!

It seems that he may need to  be an only cat. The frisky young cat in the foster home was too much for him.  He would also do best in a home where someone is around most of the time because he is very affectionate and loves to play.  He would do ok with older children but no dogs. He will need some access to the outside, such as a catio or deck where he can feel and smell the fresh summer breezes.

We think he is a year or two old. He’s in Anchorage. Call 907 980-8898

MASON

Given name is Mason but his street name is Leo because of his bright colored mane and his cool and confident personality. He has the most beautiful eyes and silky hair.

He’s an All Around Cool Cat. He does does well with cat friends or is fine by himself. He loves to be around his humans.. He likes to talk for attention and cuddles. He does love the outdoors and will need a safe place to roam around a bit and show off his lion-ness. He is not comfortable around fast movements or loud noises and if irritated enough, he may swat. But in general, he is the sweetest easy-going boy to be a part of a loving settled home.

AMARA

Amara is a beautiful lilac-point Siamese around 10 months old. She loves kitties and doggies. When she feels safe she loves her people and loves attention. She will purr all day for pets. But she is terrified in open loud spaces. If you try and approach her in the open she will run like a wild child. If you sit and calmly talk to her and call her she will make her way over to you for attention.

Amara will need a patient and understanding family to help her continue to build her confidence. She will also need a feline friend in her new home. And in the future, when she has bonded with her family, she will need a safe place where she can go outside with her kitty friends and humans if she decides she wants to enjoy the outside world.

REBEL

Sweet Rebel! He’s a handsome young fellow in a striking, almost Bengal patterned coat. Short-haired, neat. He always looks well groomed. We think he is about a year old, maybe two years.

He loves to be pet. And he loves to head butt his special people. He will take a minute to adjust since he knows better than to trust any strange human. He purrs a sweet song when he’s getting cuddles. He likes quiet, safe places to hang out and nap. He will definitely need a safe place to go outside with his family when he is settled in. And he loves other cats so he will do best in a home with a cat friend. We don’t know about dogs.

GRACIE

Gracie is a gorgeous tiger/tabby girl with markings as sharp as a bengal’s. She is a most loving, affectionate girl who is a darling with her trusted people and all her cats who will love her too. We think she is a year or two old.

Gracie spent some time as a stray and it made her cautious. But she never lost the love of family and home. Once she knows you are her beloved ones, she is all in for pets and head butts. And she will lick your face as if grooming you like she would a kitten or any loved one. Once you are her people, she is happy to take care of you and give you love. Being outside for some time, with all the cautions needed to stay alive, she didn’t have a chance to totally relax and play. And now that she’s safe and loved, she is learning how to play. She loves romping around the house and she loves the laser light.

Gracie is a mellow and beautiful young girl who will need a special kind and settled home. She will need a cat friend to be her companion and gentle people who will give her all the time and patience needed to adapt to a new world. She’s in Nikiski but can travel for love. Handsome with his pirate look, Hawkeye is a sweet boy who has only one eye but he has a lotta love to give to make up for it. He can see right to the heart of things and is so ready to have a loving, kind family of his own.

Hawkeye is maybe a couple years old. He came into the MatSu shelter in a trap and with a bad eye. From the start in foster he has proven to be a loving gentle boy. He loves people. He loves to play and has found so much joy in have the safe home where he can have the comfort of not worrying about his next meal or danger. He is very affectionate and with people. He does just fine with other cats and dogs and would be totally okay with a companion in the home. But we think he would also do well as the only as long as he has lots of love from his people. And a safe place to play outside.

Hawkeye seems to have ashthma that has only been a problem when he had a kitty cold. An inhaler will come with him for emergency situations.

JESSICA

Beautiful tortie-point Siamese girl, Jessica is a sweetheart. She came to us declawed. She has blue eyes and a lovely  coat that has a subtle camouflage design on her back. She’s a small girl, neat and lovable.

Jessica is gentle and easy to have as part of the family. She tends to be happy just doing her own thing,  or hanging out around the house, sharing love and a quiet life with her humans. She would love a little yard that is safe where she could go out and revel in the birdsong on a warm summer evening. She can live with other cats who leave her alone but seems to be happy in a home where it is just her and her beloved human.

When Jessica was rescued, it was found that she had multiple fragments of nails and bone growth in her toes. Every declawed toe that to be repaired because of the damage that the declaw surgery had done. She seems to be doing great now. She is about 8 years old.

MARAUDER

Marauder is so beyond ready to find his perfect family! And who wouldn’t want a handsome big boy cuddlebutt cat to be their own?

He was a long timer at the pound and was starting to lose patience with people poking and petting him all day without his permission. But once he got into foster, it was very obvious he really wants to be part of a family! He is a very curious cat and wants to be involved in what you’re doing, whatever is going on in the house or his yard. He is a big boy and likes to wrestle with the other cats. So a boy cat that likes to romp and wrestle would be a great pal for him, as long as he can be the boss. He really loves paper bags, laser toys, hair ties, and anything else he can find to play with. He’s very affectionate and loves pets, but he has parts of his body that are off limits to touching and he is very firm in setting his boundaries. He also does not like being picked up without permission. A home with adults or older kids who understand limits would be best.

Marauder is a great cat who does fine with dogs and other cats but he will want to be the cat in charge. We think he’s about 3 years old. In Wasilla. Call 907 980-8898

KHAJIIT

Khajiit is our little girl who snuck into our hearts. She was so scaredy cat but has found safety in the arms of other kitties. She LOVES, ADORES AND IDOLIZES her kitty friends.  She is a young girl, just about 1 year old.

She will yell at you for not feeding her on her schedule and will absolutely want to be around you, but petting is a no go. She prefers her pets to come her feline friends and not humans. Khajiit will make a wonderful kitty friend to a lonely nice kitty who will frolic in the yard with her during warm summer days.

FLORENCE

Beautiful seal-point Siamese girl, Queen Florence is self-appointed feline royalty with personality to spare.  She loves to be involved with everything her people do and will follow them from room to room to check on them when it suits her.

As a social butterfly, she needs to investigate all visitors and has been known to go from lap to lap gathering love and snuggles from her humans.  She prefers to initiate contact and does not like to be picked up, but will happily snuggle on the couch or in bed with you.  She prefers to be able to roam throughout the house and has an aversion to closed doors.

Florence thrives in a house as the only furry friend.  This way she can soak up all the attention.  She would do well with older children, but does not do well with other cats and only tolerates dogs.  She would make an excellent companion to someone who is home often and can meet her needs for attention.  She will need a safe outside space to explore.

DUKE and PISTACHIO

Who is the cutest kitty in the land?

Duke and Pistachio! You can’t pick just one with these 2 around.

About 3 1/2 months old, they are purrfect babies ready to find their new home, or homes. They would be great adopted together. But if they each had a wonderful family with another feline to be their best friend and loved one, as well as humans who adore them, they would be fine.

Duke is the charming ebony guy with that fantastic smokey ruff. And what a personality! He was turned into rescue because the owners didn’t like him and weren’t feeding him much. Crazy people!

And little sweetheart Pistachio was found outside with injuries that looked like a dog attack. We thought she might lose part of her foot but she kept up her bright spirit and healed great.

Now they are healthy, happy babies who need loving dependable humans to look after them and be their family for the rest of their lives. They will need to be adopted together or have another friendly cat in their new homes, and they will also need a safe yard to play in with their families on nice days. No locked inside like prisoners homes for them. They are real kitties with real cat needs so that they remain healthy and happy and full of joy.

SERENA

A fluffy and friendly little girl, Serena is the perfect family cat! There is not a person or animal that she doesn’t love. Even after being caught in a trap and spending time in a cage at Houston House, she was immediately giving as much love as she could. She became especially attached to the kids in her foster home, following them around the house and licking their faces every chance she got. She also loves to climb and scratch cat trees and play with toys.

She is approximately 1 or 2 years old with the most gorgeous long silky tabby coat. Her face looks like a lynx and her tail is luxuriously fluffy. She would love to find a family with a cat and maybe some kids. She also does well with dogs and enjoys their company. Located in Eagle River, but can travel for true love. Contact 720-563-7141

CREAMSICLE

Look who’s looking and feeling good! This great big hunk of love! And he has a story to tell!

Creamsicle came into rescue with an abscess the size of a moon crater. Obviously sick and feeling awful, he has never once made a sketchy move toward people. He had been living outside and he was ready for help. Moving into being pet and purring as best he could with a fever and that terrible wound, he won hearts from the first moment.

And he is still the heart throb boy. Not only those amazing good looks, but he is an instant lover boy in foster. And if anything threatens any of the girl cats, he is right there to defend them. He will guard his family no matter what.

He’s a BIG boy, more than 15 pounds. And super smart. He seems to know what you’re saying. Sometimes he even chooses to sit when you say ‘sit’. He loves to talk and tell you all about what he’s been through. Creamsicle will need a female cat friend in his new home. A loved one. Or two. And a kind family. No dogs. A yard or safe outside area is required so that he can go out and be a part of the natural world where his heart feels happy. RALPHIE

Ralphie is a handsome guy with a tabby coat and the sweetest face, especially when he does his owl ear imitation. He’s about 9 y ears old.

He’s a very loving and chill cat. He loves to lounge around all day and cuddle like the sweet little man he is. He loves attention and will have a stare off until you pet his head, but also is happy off on his own. He can be uneasy at times around new people,  but he warms up quickly. Ralphie doesn’t seem to bother with toys or like to play in general. He has been an indoor/outdoor guy and he finds his playtime outside in the natural world. He’s very vocal when he wants food, just in case his human may have forgotten. He prefers a cat fountain or drinking water directly from a faucet.

Ralphie is a little quirky and lovable boy who would do well in a home with a loving family. He has lived with dogs in the past but their unruliness was stressful. He may do okay with a very mellow older dog, and possibly a cat,  that does their own thing and leaves him alone.

Ralphie is on a primarly wetfood diet to keep his kidneys strong.  He will need a family that will make sure he has access to fresh water and plenty of wet food; he loves the water fountain.

ZION

The sweetest Maine Coon looking boy! Zion is a darling gentle soul maybe a year old. He is one of those cautious cats who melted into his person’s arms when he was given kindness and love.

Zion is a great hugger. He is uncertain about new situations but once he knows it’s okay, he’s all in. He is a purring little guy with rubs and cuddles once he’s sure everything is settled and kind. He does great with the other nice cat in the house and he’s even fine with the toddler doing her toddler thing. And when he gets a lap that is welcoming, that’s great.

Zion has been outside and needs a safe place to go out and revel in the summer warm evenings with his family. And another gentle cat would be great to have as a companion. He’s ready for a loving home and a sweet gentle person to be his own forever.

ROMEO

They got the name right this time! ROMEO! Followed by a swoon.

If you’re looking for a heart-throbber, step right up. Because this boy fits his name to a T. He’s a handsome laid back guy, the kind that makes all the girls (and kitty moms) swoon. Romeo was found outside in the Houston area; it was said that he had been a stray on his own for quite a while and he looked it! He was so dirty. It’s hard to figure how he could have been a stray so long. Because it seems like he would have just walked up to someone and given them the ‘I love you’ routine and they would have taken him home for cuddles. But there he was, dirty and hungry and we were lucky enough for him to come our way. Now he’s had a bath and good food and he’s the soul of purrfection!

He gets along with everyone. He went into a foster home with a dog and a bunch of cats and it took him about 20 seconds to settle in and be one of the kids. The other cats accept him like he’s lived here forever. He’s in sych with the universe and emanates happiness.

Romeo will need a buddy or two in his new home. And a place where he can go outside and smile in the sunshine and know that now he can totally enjoy the outside because he doesn’t have to stay outside. He has a home to step back into at any moment as he desires. He the best cat who deserves the best world. Maybe couple years old and so happy. In Palmer. Call 907 980-8898

Everest would love a big brother. She loves the big boys in her foster home. She gets along with all the kitties and will definitely need a feline friend. But if it could be a big brother type boy who loves her, that would be great.  She doesn’t mind mellow dogs. She may not be the best fit for a family with young chidren as she can be impatient with pets she doesn’t want. She hisses at times when approached but it’s all air. She does love to snuggle up with her people and she loves her toys. She’s a kitten at heart and needs lots of cuddles, playtime, fun with friends.

Blue-eyed, polydactyl boy a couple years old. Only guesses at what mix of breeds he is but Casper is gorgeous. With his color markings, ragdoll comes to mind. He’s a lean machine even after putting on a lot of weight. But check out his amazing cheeks and those paws! He is multi-polydactyl!

Casper is such a sweetheart. He came to us skinny as a rail and stressed out from the MatSu shelter. It was too much for him there. But in a home, he is a living doll. He is the sweetest boy who loves so much to have cheek scritches, pets and snuggles and the attention of a loving human. He is great even with the nice kids in the house. He might even play a bit with his friends and family. He has a quiet sweet voice and likes to tell you things. He’s bossy with other cats. May or may not do well with a particular cat. Some of it seems like teenage boy-ness. But the girls in the foster home are not thrilled with his advances. We don’t know about dogs. But if you’re looking for the love of your life, Casper could be the one.

RALPHIE

Ralphie’s back and he’s a whole new cat!!

Well, he’s the cat he’s been but we learned so much about him that we didn’t know before that he seems like a brand new boy

Ralphie is great with other cats. He plays with the kittens like there’s no tomorrow. He loves the kids and he doesn’t mind the dogs at all. He’s broken out of the stoic needy Ralphie personna and has a big bright personality that is ready for love and be loved in a great family.

He’s about 9 years old but don’t let that make you think he’s ‘old’. No way. He is a most delightful interactive boy who really does LOVELOVELOVE to get cuddles and sleep curled up next to you and be your sweet snuggy boy. But he is also a social guy, with the other cats and with the nice kids. He likes to play. He likes to hang out with friends. He’s such a great boy. We do know that he is also an excellent hunter and so he could be your home protector from pesky little rodents on top of everything else!

He’s just purrfect!

KYA

Kya is the sweetest little boy you could imagine. Adorable blue eyes and ivory coat with the sunset orange highlights, he’s a delicate-natured, flame-point Siamese maybe a 10 months or a year old.

Kya is the most affectionate little darling with the people he knows and loves. He will snuggle and he loves to be pet. He takes a little bit to accept strange people and situations but once he’s sure he will never leave your side. He loves to sit in lap and get all the pets. He loves butt scratches and any sweet loving kisses and pets you can give. When not being direct love, he will find a safe hiding place and nap until it’s time to cuddle again. Even though he seems shy in some ways, he is great with nice gentle kids, even toddlers who are sweet and quiet.

Kya seems a little uneasy around the other cat in the house and will just move back and find a place to hide out. He may do fine with another cat of the same gentle nature that he has. We don’t know about dogs.

WALTER

Sweet, mellow, cuddly, handsome–there aren’t enough adjectives to describe wonderful Walter. We don’t know how he ended up out in the cold, but he was lucky enough to be rescued when he wandered into a kind lady’s yard this winter. Despite some hard times, he’s a loving, well-mannered fun cat who loves the outdoors,  walk with a harness, keeps your feet warm, greets you and your guests enthusiastically.

Walter is looking for a home where he can safely go outside,  with a family that has time to provide loads of chin scratches and belly rubs. A mature child would be great. We’re not certain how he is with dogs. He was harassed by his rescuers cat, so it may be best for him to be your one and only, although a friendly welcoming cat may be just fine. You could be the lucky family to share your home with this lovely boy. We think he is a mid age adult, maybe 3 or 4.

MISSY

Pretty, neat, friendly, lovable, Missy is everything a family could ask for. She has great house manners, the excitement of life, and all the time and the joy  in the world to share with those she loves.

Missy is a senior girl, maybe 10 or 12, but there’s nothing ‘old’ about her. She is lively and spirited. She is always exploring, investigating, padding around from place to place and she is happy to tell you what exciting finds she makes.  She does prefer a home that is not crowded with critters. But she does fine with another cat that does their own thing. We don’t know about dogs. She would do great in a home with nice school age kids or  as a companion to a hermit in the woods. She will bond with her person and be their devoted one forever. She loves to be pet and will arch up for head pets. But she does not require her people to entertain her. She is intelligent and fully capable of finding things inside and out to keep her busy. Missy is ready to be the best family for a loving human. She is a great huntress and loves to go outside and explore her tiny part of the planet so a yard or outdoor area would be needed.

If you’re looking for a lovely loving tabby girl who is an excellent friend and companion, please call us at 907 980-8898. She’s in Homer but can hitch a ride north to be with her new happy family.

BEETHOVEN

Amazing kitty! That sums up Beethoven. Found by the side of the snowy road outside of Homer, this little girl was skin and bones. And immediately a love. Purrs right up front. Chilled and starving and lost, she showed nothing but love.

Beethoven is still a slim girl and still a bit scruffy from whatever her life was before. But there is no one like her. Beautiful black and white sweetheart whose ambition in life is to be with her people and cuddle. Cuddle cuddle cuddle. Purr. She does fine with other cats. With dogs. They exist and she is okay with that and is happy to live with them. But if she can sit on her human’s shoulder or lay in their lap, that is what happiness is all about.

We think she is maybe 5 or 6 months old. She will need a human family that has time and plenty of affection for her. And there must be a yard or safe area outside where she can go with her people to enjoy the natural world.

In Homer. Call 907 980-8898

CUPCAKE

Cupcake is a girl, unusual in the cat world, for being orange and white. She has taken that specialness to a new level by having a unique marking on her face. Like a starburst kiss!

Cupcake is probably a couple years old. She was found crying outside a house with an injured leg. Her people were never found but this lovely sweetheart won over her rescuers in a minute. And she has been great in foster. Her leg injured leg has healed and she has adapted easily to a home with other cats, mellow dogs, and school-age children. She doesn’t seem to need a cat buddy but could co-exist with one in a home. She very very much enjoys being pet by her people and will be a great family member. She also would be happy to help with any invading rodents that might come your way and will need a safe to venture into during the way summer.

MURPHY

Murphy was one of a group of 15 cats who lived outside, was fed and loved but it was cold! Especially with his coat thinning almost to nothing. And then the elderly lady couldn’t take care of them anymore and that’s when he hit the jackpot. A warm foster home and a heat pad! Pure luxury.

This wonderful handsome boy, who will be working on growing out a thicker coat, is a total sweetheart. He gets along great with all the cats he’s met in foster. Does okay with the dog who ignores him. Ad loves loves loves the head and neck rubs and the affection of people.

He’s ready for adoption any time with the understanding that he will need a little nutritional boost to help his coat, and maybe some nutritional support for what may be aches and pains in his back. And definitely a warm place to cozy up, stretch out, and enjoy life.

We think he is a mid-age adult, maybe 5 or 6. In Anchorage. Call or text 907 980-8898

HARLEY and POPPY

Harley and Poppy, boy and girl. They are not siblings but are beloved best friends.

These two started out in a colony in a trailer park. Harley the big tuxedo boy was the protector and comforter of the adorable little gray and white girl, Poppy. They hung out together and felt safe together. When they were trapped, along with many others, they managed to stay together.

After they were trapped, they were scared and depressed. Harley was healing from a cat fight and they both spent their time hiding from people. It took a while but then, one day Harley decided he was ready to be pet. He found out he loves pets and chin scritches. And he has found his purr. Harley’s happiness to be with people has helped Poppy to start being more trusting. She is still not ready to be pet. But she is fine living in a home with people and acting like she belongs there. She doesn’t mind imitating an elephant when she runs through the house to investigate what you are doing. She’s comfortable getting in your business but not quite ready for the touching part.

These wonderful bonded kitties need a family that will understand that they will take some time to settle in. Other cats and nice dogs would be great. Harley and Poppy love other furry critters. And they do love to go outside so they will need a place to play and explore in nature once they are bonded with their people and home.

If you would like to have a pair of wonderful kitties join your family, please give us a call at 907 980-8898. They are in Palmer.

SHADEN

Shaden is a sweet and happy young girl.  She comes when you call her name, she rolls over when she gets brushed. One of her special abilities is purrrrrrrrrrrrring!!! She purrs all the time when she is with somebody. She is the happiest girl ever even though her life hasn’t been the most pleasant one.

When she came from the shelter, her hair was messed up and covered by dandruff. She had been very stressed there. But at her foster home, she was instantly a love.  Now her black long hair is getting shiny and more gorgeous day by day. It seems like she loves to be loved (get pet, brushed, talked) more than anything. She does fine with other cats. We don’t know about dogs. She will need a safe yard to play in in her new home.

KATIE

She’s beautiful! Blue eyes, the tiger markings on her face and tail of a lynx point Siamese. There’s never been a question about her beauty. Or her sweetness. It’s her shyness that has kept her in foster. But it’s her sweetness and her very obvious strong desire to be loved that will make her a wonderful family cat.

Katie is a wonderful, gentle, loving, kind little girl who came from the Valdez shelter as a ‘feral’. Her ‘feral’ companion from the shelter was bold and she overcame her trust issues quickly and was adopted to a family where she is doing great. But Katie is a shyer girl. And she is still struggling with adapting to the noises and activities in a home. But it’s so clear that she really wants to be in a home. She loves racing through the house playing and she is the BEST friend of other kitties, especially if they are playful too. But she can also just snuggle up with them and give them kisses. She does great with her foster mom. She sleeps by her foster mom’s legs and loves to be pet by her. She runs to the sound of catfood can being opened and she loves treats. She’s getting this whole house and people thing down pat.

Katie is about 2 years old and she has so much love and devotion to give to a family of her own. It may take some time for her to gain trust and confidence to settle in, and a quiet, settled home would be best, but she will be some happy family’s beloved and devoted girl. If you could love this little girl who is trying so hard, and if you have the understanding that a shy kitty needs to bond, please contact us. Whoever wins the heart of Katie will have a loving forever family member.

We snuggle too! My new forever family must be able to provide me with a friendly kitty family to play and snuggle and share stories of kitty lore with. And if there’s a doggo, they must be very nice to me so we can play and, of course, I will need safe outdoor access.

MOSES and SUE

Moses, despite everything he has endured prior to rescue, he is truly a gentlecat’s cat. He is observant, patient, charming, reassuring and gallant. Moses is the Paul Rudd of the feline world. He is so endearing. Loves being close to you, maybe not ON you, but nearby. Loves sleeping in the bed, usually next to or at the foot of his humans. Just laying out, enjoying being in your company. He loves some good playtime, but when it comes to hand play- he is gentle. AND lets talk about the tummy rubs….

Moses has a special friend; her name is Sue and she is a beautiful blue-eyed girl. He has been her support since his arrival, and has been helping her see that pets from humans are not so bad! She had been hiding in the closet at her foster home, wondering what this whole people touching thing was all about.  Enter Paul Rudd, ahem.. Moses. He has been her support. Her protector and helper. He showed her that the pets are comforting, he purred and encouraged her to try being pet too until she allowed it. And now she realizes that she actually LIKES it! She has the prettiest purrs, like a musical waterfall. She needs patience, calm and kindness. But she is definitely ready to make that final leap to being a sweet, pet kitty, as long as she has her Moses MOwith her.

They go together, Moses and Sue. That is all. They are bonded. Patience, love and kindness for them both and you will have a happy couple that makes your home complete. They are great with doggos who are gentle or indifferent, and with other gatos of course! They will need a safe place to go outside and enjoy the wonderful world of nature, but always with a home where they can go back inside and be a happy family.

Meet Suki! She is the cutest bundle of purrs, only about 5-6 months old and looking for her forever home.

Suki is a playful and silly kitten, so she needs a kitty friend or two to romp around with. She is also very sweet, and loves pets and attention. Suki is still getting used to people, but she has mostly worked out that they are the bringers of food and attention, which she loves. She has this thing where she will hiss when you approach her, but within seconds she’s like “oh okay I remember that I like you now”. Then she will start immediately purring. She might need a bit of adjustment time, but we are confident that she will continue to build her confidence as she grows up. We don’t know how she does with dogs since we’ve not had her with any. KITKAT and REESE–Pending

Sweeter than candy, in a kitty kind of way, Kitkat and Reese are sister and brother, inseparable siblings looking for a family who’s as excited about play time and treat time as they are. They are fluffy sunset-colored kitties about a year old.

Both cats love other cats and nice dogs, and have been working a lot on their people skills. They  love being around and seeing what their humans are up to. Reese loves getting scritches once he gets to know you a bit, and he isn’t afraid to get in your business if he wants to be petted. He’ll even stand guard while you’re in the bathroom! He’s been making great progress on being picked up and is good for a short period being held. KitKat, the smaller sister, is still working on trusting people enough to let them pet her. She’s made slower progress than her brother, but if she’s anything like him she’ll be begging to be petted in no time. They enjoy being near you and watching whatever you’re doing, even if they’re not super snuggly just yet.

Reece is the big guy. We call him ‘healthy’ but he may have a few extra pounds stored away for emergencies. He doesn’t have any trouble moving those pounds around though. All toys are subject to being prey of this frisky guy. He specializes in hoarding the cat toys in his special hidden niches. He’ll steal anybody’s toys, even the dog’s or Kitkat’s!

Kitkat is smaller than Reese and specializes in finding the best napping spots.  She loves exploring everything and every place in the house. She is the investigator and leaves no nook or cranny unchecked. Both kitties love to sleep on the bed with their people. You might wake up in the night to find Kitkat staring at you, pondering over what this big creature is all about. She’s making plans to step right up and be pet. But she’s waiting for the right moment.

If you are a family who is willing to give kitties a chance to adapt to a whole new world–house, people, sounds and activities, then these sweet sunny kitties would be great for you! They are wonderful kitty personalities who will bloom in a loving family.

BUTTERCUP

A beautiful tortie-point Siamese kitty with blue eyes, Buttercup came from a hoarding situation. She was shy at first but in foster her personality has blossomed into such a playful, snuggly little lovebug!

Buttercup started out hiding from the world, burrowing herself into some pretty interesting places; now she loves to burrow under the covers and snuggle up tight to her humans or sleep curled around her foster dad’s head. If you are not careful she will steal your whole pillow! Barely out of kittenhood she still has that sweet playful baby kitty personality. She loves to play with toys and enjoys her games on the iPad. She is silly and playful but not so  rambunctious. She naturally has a calm and easygoing nature.  In her current foster home, she has tried many times to befriend the other foster cat who sadly wants absolutely nothing to do with her.  She even paws longingly at other cats faces when her foster mom is watching adorable cat videos.  This is why she must have a cat friend in her new home.  Dogs are an unknown but she would probably do fine with a mellow dog. Older kids would be preferred since littles might be a little much for her.  She does need to have her fur brushed occasionally but overall is a very low-maintenance cat who will bring you many years of joy and snuggles.

NEPTUNE

Neptune has the most beautiful blue eyes. And such interesting markings. Maybe a snowshoe Siamese with a little confusion in the markings. But absolutely stunning.

Neptune is a friendly mellow boy. He might even be called lazy on these cold winter days. He’s not much interested in playing but naps are great. He may perk up when spring finally arrives and there is the glorious outside to enjoy.  He doesn’t mind the mellow dogs and gets along with most cats. Would not do well with a dominant male cat but great with those who don’t try to boss him. He’s a very nice, very chill boy to join a mellow family.

DIGGLES

Diggles was lost or abandoned outside in Meadow Lakes and it was scary. We don’t know how long he was there alone and cold and hungry, but finally one day he decided to take a chance and when the lady came outside, he cried out. That is what saved his life.

Diggles is a quiet undemanding boy. But when he is ready for pets he will bow his little head to your hand and make chirping sounds. He is so adorable. It’s obvious he wants to be loved. He wants to be a part of a family in a home with loved ones. He is ready for that. And so hopeful that there is a family who would love to have him as their beloved cat.  Diggles seems happy to rest and enjoy the safety and care of being a family cat.  We think he is a young adult, maybe in that 1-5 year old range. But he’s seen and been through a lot in those short years and he has taken the reality of the world to heart. He has also reached the point where he is ready to open his wounded heart to a new family, the possibility of a better life. All it takes is for kind, loving people to take him into their hearts and give him a chance to know true love and a home.

Diggles has been fine with other cats. He hasn’t made any effort to join in the kittenlike play of the youngsters in the house. But he is perfectly okay with the others romping around. He would probably do great with an older, nice cat companion. We don’t know about dogs. He will need a safe yard where he can step outside and enjoy the wonders of nature without the challenge of having no safe home to retreat to.

BAGEL–Pending

Bagel  has a big body and wild, cool, handsome face. But his personality is so sweet. He is a kind, affectionate, gentle boy.

Bagel was trapped near the Matsu landfill. We suspect that he had been dumped there.  It was easy to imagine that he had been through the worst thing that can happen–his beloved family cast him away like trash and broke his heart. At that place of unwanted things, he managed to stay alive. And then, when an effort was being made to get another cat believed to be there, he was trapped. And his new journey began.

When Bagel went to his foster home, he was scared and depressed. He couldn’t eat or drink water. You can still see it in his face, how much he has been hurt. But after a while, he started to show his adorable character, to reveal what a wonderful loving boy that he is. Now he takes full advantage of being loved and cared for.

What he loves ◦ Getting pet ◦ Getting brushed ◦ Making biscuits ◦ Purring ◦ Snuggling ◦ Being loved ◦ Loving others ◦ Hanging out with someone ◦ Alone time sometimes ◦ His food and snacks ◦ And playing.

Bagel seems to have settled into the happy family life very well.  It’s so clear that even though he has had his heart broken, deep inside this boy, there is a reservoir of devotion and affection that he is saving for the people who will once and for all be his devoted loving caring family forever. Whoever that ends up being will have hit the jackpot of love.

Bagel seems to be a mid age adult. He does fine with other cats; we don’t know about dogs. He will need to have a safe place to go outside in his new home; where he and his family can go out and share the joy of nature and being alive. He’s in Anchorage. Call or text 907 980-8898

ECLIPSE

Eclipse came into rescue as a tiny kitten. He was living under the trailer of a nice old man. Together with a colony of cats he somehow survived months of zero degree weather this winter. He was the only kitten who was able to survive, having to intimidate the adult cats for the small amounts of food they would sometimes get. Somehow when he was caught, though never really touched by a human, he wasn’t feral, just a little cautious and curious. Even though he was a tough survivor, he is a sweet and gentle kitten. He loves to hang out & cuddle with his human and play with other cats. When he’s picked up, he will purr. He sits up like a meerkat when he’s trying to look around. He is funny and personable. And, loves to sleep curled up next to his person. He is approximately 6 months old. He must have a cat friend in his new home and he would love to be able to explore in the yard of his kingdom.

JIMMY

Big fluffy soft snuggle up boy, Jimmy is a cuddler’s dream guy. He’s as orange as the sunset. About 6 years old.

Jimmy is unique. He has a front leg deformity that causes him to walk on his front legs rather than just his toes. He gets around fine and can jump as spry as the rest. But he walks low in the front so it gives him an odd gait.

He is a wonderful affectionate loving boy. He will roll over and over for pets. Stretch out for tummy rubs and rub up against his people for pets. He would love to have a home where the people will give him lots of love. He’s okay with other cats but he would also be fine as the only cat as long as his people treat him like part of the family. We don’t know how he is with dogs. But a very mellow not-in-your-face dog would probably be fine. He will need a very safe yard where he can go out to enjoy the summer warm evenings but where dogs would not be able to invade.

COLA

Big fluffy hunkum boy–Cola– with a serious winter coat. Very Maine Coonish and totally a sweetheart.

Cola was found outside with a wonky ear and a matted coat. Scared so that he had to be trapped. But it took about 2 minutes to know that this guy is a love. He is 2 years old, a boy in his prime. And this is the perfect time for him to find a perfect home. He was adopted before from the Matsu shelter and then abandoned. So this time has to be the real one.

Cola seems great with other cats. And no problem with mellow dogs. He lets the kids in his foster home pet him. After living outside on his own for a while, it’s all still a bit strange. But he is getting the hang of it. Just sit there and people will give you love, soft touches, sweet words sung to you. He is definitely ready.

Cola will need a devoted caring family. We believe that he will need a place to go outside where he can enjoy the natural world without worrying about where his next meal will come from.

About 3 years old, this adorable little fluffball is the sweetest little girl.  She is very loving and very affectionate with her people. But she will also play and cuddle by herself. She loves to be petted and to lay on your chest with her soft paws next to your cheek. She would rather be the only cat. She may be fine with dogs as long as they leave her alone.   She’ll sleep on the same bed as the chihuahua but not right next to her. Suzy likes to be a part of the family. She doesn’t hide out but she will find a nesting spot in a cat condo or her open cat bed where she can see the household. She loves her family and wants to keep an eye on them.

Suzy Q is ready for that forever family who has a place in their home and hearts for her. In Kenai area. Call or text 907 953-0333

DILLY BEANZ

Dilly Beanz is the sweetest of the sweet. He is a soft snuggly 8 month old kitty. He has the cutest little white tippy toes and scarf and that silly circle of white on his chin.

Dilly is a darling boy who does great with other cats. In fact, he needs a cat friend to play with and hang out with. He loves people too, even nice little kids who will be nice to him. He loves to play and if his people would play with him, that would be purrfection!

He’s a fun little guy who will need a fun yard to play in, maybe even hunt like real kitties, when the weather is better. He’s in Anchorage. Call or text 907 960-0096

CHASE

Adorable little tigery boy, Bruce is a love. He is 7 months old and is a great cuddler.

Shy to start, he will need some time to settling in to a new home. But having a good kitty friend helps. He is great with other nice cats. We don’t know about dogs. If there is chaos in the house–sudden loud noises or movement, he will head for cover. But comes right back out for loves. He loves attention and will sleep with his people. He’s a happy sweet little boy.

He will need a cat friend in his new home. And he would love a fun yard to play in with his family in the summer. In Soldotna. Call or text 907 953-0333

CINNAMON and NUTMEG

Adorable sisters about 6 months old, Cinnamon and Nutmeg are the cutest sweetheart kitties. They would love a home together.

These little girls are a great pair! They are all play and cuddle and cuddle and play……with each other and their people. They would have great fun playing and snuggling with other kitties too. They have lived with a lot of other cats as well as a mellow dog. And they do great!

Cinnamon is a pound heavier than her sister and has short hair. She’s very playful and full of fun, excellent at finding whatever joy of kittenhood is available. Nutmeg is a smaller fluffy little kitty who is a little more chill than her sister. They both love cuddles. They love all toys, cat trees and perches. Racing around exploring and being silly seems to be a favorite activity. Snuggling up with their humans runs a close second. They are very affectionate little teens.

These girls would prefer to go to a home together and that is our goal at the moment. They will need lots of love, lots of space to race around and explore, and when spring comes, they will need the option to go outside with their family for expeditions through the yard.

They are in Wasilla. Please call or text 907 980-8898

YUKI

Found cold, afraid, and alone outside in the snow under his foster family’s front steps, this little boy was given the fitting name of Yuki, which means snow in Japanese. We think he is about 5-6 months old, and he is so adorable with his lush ruff and big eyes.

He is still working on completely trusting humans, but he can be pet once you get down on his level, and he will rub his head into your hands. He just needs some time and patience still. He is starting to let his kitten side show! Yuki loves to play and explore the house. He especially loves the resident cats in his foster home, so he needs at least one other cat in his forever home. Ideally a younger or active cat that he can grow up and play with. While he is being socialized, he still has a tendency to swat if he’s unsure, so it’s recommended he goes to a home without young children. Not sure how he is with dogs. In his forever home, he will need safe outdoor area  where he can go with his family when the weather is much nicer and not so yuki.

Yuki is so sweet and cute, and would love to be taken care of and loved and never have to fend for himself in the cold again! He is in Wasilla. Call 907 980-8898

FEATHER

For the past 15 years,  since Feather was a small kitten she was with a person she loved. After a series of unfortunate events, Feather and her family ended up homeless and in the care of Houston Animal Control and CCCR. Feather learned resiliencey through her many moves and fit right into her new foster home right away. The minute her kennel opened at her new foster home her confidence was on display.  She immediately was exploring her surroundings and jumping on cat trees like she owned the place (she was also happy to stretch her legs after being in the kennel for a while). Feather is so confident and fits in so well that she taught a previously thought “feral” foster how to be a family cat again.  Feather’s name suits her well. She is light and dainty, so if her new home has kids they will need to be older and know how to handle with care. She loves dogs, but only if they are calm and gentle. She loves other cats and will want to be in a home with at least one other cat. Feather LOVES to explore. She needs a safe outdoor space where she is able to smell the grass and watch the birds.

GIGI GREEN EYES

Darling little Gigi–what a sweet, soft, adorable boy he is. He has the prettiest coat that is soft colors and soft to touch, Perfect petting coat for the purrfect pet cat. And those eyes! Mesmerizing tundra lake green!

Gigi came to us like so many amazing cats; he was a stray in Wasilla. Came right up to the finders for help. He is super friendly with people. At first he did great with the other cats in the house and then relations went bad and Gigi was put in the garage and rescue was called. In his foster home he is doing fine with other cat who loves cats.

All this sweetheart wants is love. It’s difficult to get a picture of his because he just wants to be with you, rubbing up against you, giving you love and affection. He is very much a companion cat. We don’t know how old he is; guesstimate is 2. But we do know that he is going to need a family that loves their cats. And also has a place where he can safely go outside when the weather is nice if he wants to go out.

ZENDAYA

Zendaya is a fluffly little girl so sweet to snuggle up to. She loves to be pet and baby-talked to by the people who are her family. And she loves loves loves other friend kitties.

She was born outside with 4 siblings to a mom who struggled to keep them safe and fed and to teach them how to deal with the world. Which to her was to avoid people. So the kittens started out with suspicion. But after they were rescued and there was a warm place to play and plenty of food and lots of toys, they realized that this could be great. That people might be so bad, that sharing a world with humans could have benefits. The question was……….which humans.

So Zendaya, like her siblings, learned to use her sharp senses to figure out who was okay and who was scary. So far, the big humans in her world have shown her that people can be great! She loves cuddles, she loves the pets. She loves the sweet snuggling up purring times with her people. She purrs and stretches as they give her kind words and pets.

So she’s convinced that this is the life for her, this being a pet kitty. And now all she has to do is find her very own special people, and kitty, family which could also include a nice dog, go home with them, and live happily ever after. It’s almost a princess story.

So little Zendaya who is about 6 months old, is nestled in a chair in a warm house waiting for those very special people who will be her very special family. If you’re ready to bring a darling little girl into the fold of your family, please consider Zendaya. She deserves the best happy ending possible.

SOOPOLILLIE

If you’ve ever wanted a tiny panther cat Soopolallie is your guy, he may be tiny but he is fierce (and cuddly). He is the cutest most special boy with short, shiny hair, quirky eyebrows that make him look a little sad and lips that are about bald. He is truly a heartbreaker.

Soopolallie is the runt of the litter but his tiny little body never held him back. He loves to climb and jump and stalk the dogs, he likes attacking feet that are under blankets and he likes to mutter to himself while he’s in the little box doing his business. His best friend is his berry brother Gooseberry and they would love to be adopted together.

Soopolille is about 3 months old. He will need to have another kitty friend in his new home, and a safe yard where he can play in the summer with his family.

GOOSEBERRY

Gooseberry is the quintessential cat, a big hunk of love, not a fighter but will tussle with his brother and enjoys a nice ball of string on a cold day. He has the softest wooly coat for pets and a real love for warm sunny spots to lounge in. This cat is an extreme napper, he has gold medals in finding the best spots and staying in them for hours. A lazy little guy with the perfect personality, Gooseberry has it all, good cattitude, good appetite, great purr, great looks.

Gooseberry would love to warm your windowsill and watch the birds with you in his forever home. He would love to be adopted with his brother Soopolallie and together they’ll warm your heart with their silly antics and kitty love. He is about 3 months old. OCTAVIA and SCIPIO

Octavia and Scipio are sister and brother, kittens about 3 1/2 months old. They are friendly,  playful babes who will make your heart swell to watch them go about their kitten business of investigating the world around them. They are a riot romping around a cat toy, rolling over each other, standing up on their hind legs to bat at each other. Naptime is so precious, with darling tortoiseshell Octavia wrapped around her little golden brother Scipio.

We think they would be an ideal pair adopted together. But it’s not required. If you have a great home for a kitten which would include another friendly feline who wants a kitty friend, you might be the purrfect family for one or both of these sweethearts.

And the kids; he’s always been easy and comfortable with their pets and playfulness. He does love to play with toys.

CHUBS

Chubbs is a poster child of a feral who was given a chance at life. He was trapped in Anchorage as a stray in a colony of known feral cats. If Chubbs went to a shelter, he would have been one of the 860,000 cats that get euthanized in American shelters every year.  Instead, he got lucky and ended up in the care of CCCR, where we believe all cats deserve to live their best life.

The transition from stray to foster home wasn’t easy for Chubbs. For a month, Chubbs was hiding in a corner, terrified not knowing if humans are nice or not.  If you got too close, he would either scramble to get away as fast as he could, or swat and hiss if he felt trapped.  We didn’t give up on him though. Inside was a friendly cat who craved human kindness, we just needed to find him. One day Chubbs was introduced to a new friendly foster cat (Feather) who totally changed his life; she taught him how to be a house cat again. Over the course of a few weeks, Chubbs and his foster worked hard to find his cat mojo. Chubbs was no longer considered feral. Instead of waiting to be adopted through The Barn Cat Project, he was added to the soon to be adoptable house cat list.

Chubbs discovered a lot of new things about himself recently.  For example, he is the epitome of a “tree dweller.” He feels the most confident when he is up high. His two favorite places are the top of a cat tree or being carried around by a human.  He loves to be held and gives AMAZING cuddles.  He so desperately wants to be loved, but is still learning how to trust humans again. He will do best in a quieter home. He enjoys children and dogs, but only older ones who are calm and gentle. Another cat is a must. He would do best with another cat who is outgoing that he can continue to learn from. He is used to living a life outdoors, and may want to have outside access to explore once he is comfortable in his new home. So a safe outside area where he could safely play is required.

If you want to learn more about how to adopt this well mannered tabby, text or call 720-563-7141. He is located in Chugiak

WEDNESDAY AND EIGHTBALL

Two of the most beautiful ebony boys you will meet. They are like small panthers, sleek and muscular and  elegant. They are 4 years old.

These boys were adopted as kittens from separate places and have lived, loved, roamed the lovely Alaskan woods together since. They had a great home, a paradise that included love, care, a warm house, a rural wooded area to wander and enjoy. And then their dad developed a serious health problem and had to move to a place where he could take only one cat. It was a heartbreaking decision, but he made the right one. He choose to keep his boys together so they could continue their wonderful like as brothers and best friends.

So here they are, in foster, hoping that it’s possible to hit the jackpot twice in their lives. A second great home with a great family and a great place to continue their young boy lives as loved and happy.

These wonderful boys will be the joy of some happy family’s lives. We don’t know how these boys are with other cats but we think there should be no dogs in the home; Wednesay was recently attacked by a dog. They would be great cats for older kids who will be their buddies.

These boys are in Anchorage. Must be adopted together. Call 907 980-8898

PENNY LOU

Penny Lou is a beautiful tortoiseshell girl, probably not too much older than a year. She was living outside on her own surviving on scraps and trash, but then she was rescued and brought into foster. In her early days of rescue, she was a spicy kitty–hissing, swatting, and very scared. All she had known while on her own was survival, and she didn’t know who to trust. But as she was in her foster home for longer, she started to realize that these strange large creatures kept bringing her food, which she likes. And eventually she realized that pets and attention are pretty nice. She is fully sold on the house kitty life now! But she would still love a safe place to visit the outdoors in her forever home. She also needs another friendly cat in her forever family. She LOVES her foster kitty siblings, in fact the other cats in the home are what made her progress so quickly with trusting humans. Observing the resident cats interact with the people made her realize, hey this petting thing isn’t so scary! And she loves to romp around and play and give loving nudges to her foster siblings. Penny Lou has made leaps and bounds in her progress, but she would still do best in a home with no young children as she is known to swat if she gets a little too scared of fast movements, etc. She does tend to give pats rather than letting her claws out, but still would be best for a home with older kids or adults to continue to be gentle and patient with her in her journey of learning to trust. She is at the point now where she will ask for pets by rubbing up against you and bumping your hands with her head. She can be picked up too and was purring! So her progress has been incredible. Penny Lou also has a silly side and loves to play. She is really good at keeping herself entertained with toys in the house but also loves interactive play. Penny Lou is such a good girl, and is looking forward to her new life with her forever family.

FUDGE

Fudge is a cool tuxie dude. Notice how one eye mask comes down a little lower than the other; very cool. It would fit the pirate’s swagger……..except that Fudge is not a swagger kind of guy. He’s a straightforward get along with everyone kind of boy.

Fudge is so easy. He does his thing, hangs out with the other cats. He goes out and hunts, or in the summer, just enjoys the pleasures of the natural world. He enjoys his people too, and loves to be pet by those who are kind and loving. He’s super easy to care for and love and have around. No trouble whatsoever. He is a little jumpy when there’s chaos and will seek a more quiet place. Definitely not a make trouble kind of guy.

KEETON

Great big beautiful black boy, Keeton, about 15 years old. He is SOOO affectionate. Loves his people. Does not like other cats but is tolerant of them if they move slow and leave him alone. He loves to go outside.

He’s great. But……….

Cards on the table–he bites. Sometimes it’s hard. Usually it’s a nip when he’s had enough. It will take an experienced cat person to read his messages; flashing tail, that irked look. Not a cat for kids. Or for anyone not ready to understand that he is what he is, old and super loving and a little cranky and hopefully deserving of a loving family even though he’s far from perfect.

He wants to sit on your lap and purr his little heart out. He wants to be loved and you can see the sadness in his face when you walk away because he nipped again. He doesn’t really understand why it’s so hard for someone to love him and put up with him. Because he does try hard to be a good cat. He wants to be loved so much.

Big old black cat who is as affectionate as a cat can be. Who bites. Who will want him? We hope someone. We hope there’s a chance for him to find that place where he is loved no matter how imperfect.

Dear Family of big old black cat that loves and bites……..are you out there? Keeton needs you now.

FRITZ AND JAXI–Pending

Brother and sister, Fritz and Jaxi are the sweetest 3 year old kitties. They’ve been together since birth and are bonded. They would be the very best pair of lovable cats you could hope for. You would never have to worry about whether your beloved cat is lonely or bored with these two. They can occupy themselves all day napping and playing together. And when you come  home, they will greet you with happy purrs.

Fritz is the scout. He is out and about checking out the world while Jaxi hangs back and does surveillance until she’s sure the coast is clear. Fritz investigates all the possible nooks and crannies and any toy that is laying around that needs attention. He could possibly be helpful with dusting under the furniture. He is ready to play at any time. He hopes his new people will like playing. If not, he’ll make do by entertaining them with his agile moves and crazy slides. He is so good at it, that he even gets Jaxi going at times. Jaxi does love to play. And she really loves to be loved by her people, pet and snuggled. Just a note, when there is catnip, things can get a little goofy and wild 😻😻 Fritz will curl up at your side at night and Jaxi takes her purring place at the bottom of the bed.

These cats are wonderful family members. They would do fine with another nice cat, with well-behaved dogs, and a gentle child would be great to. Fritz would love to show his kid friend all the fun play moves he has learned. And Jaxi would be a good nap partner and help with chores.

DESI

Desi, aka Kitty is a gorgeous dappled tortoiseshell girl, as lovely as an autumn forest. She’s a sturdy girl with green eyes and soft to cuddle. She is about 5 years old.

Desi has a very loud purr and uses it when she’s giving affection. She loves to be pet and snuggled until she’s done. Which could happen at the drop of a hat, And then she’s done. And that’s why she is being rehomed. As her family of humans grows, and little ones are added, Desi has shown that she is not so patient with toddlers who might not know how to give her pets just as she likes them and how to stop when she wants it to stop. She has lived with a big dog, kids and other cats since she was a kitten. She’s gets alone with everyone as long as she is allowed her space. But she would do best in a home that is less chaotic and doesn’t have littles.

She is definitely an indoor and outdoor cat, and loves to go outside. She is still very playful and likes toys. She would totally love to be in a less competitive household where she gets to be the kitty who is still adored some of the time. She loves her person, and her people, and if she could be special to them, snuggle up with them and be loved, that would be the best.

Desi is in Wasilla, waiting for her new family to  love her. Call or text 907 960-0096

HARVEY

Harvey survived outside alone in the cold for at least a year, with the occasional help of a kind human. Harvey was afraid and kept his distance until he realized he liked having regular food and water and would like to cuddle up where it’s warm. Much like the meaning of his name, Harvey has endured on his own and has shown such great resilience since coming into foster care.

He is under 2 years old, a handsome polydactal lover boy, who is excited when humans or kind cats walk in the room.  While he does have a few battle scars from his survival time on his own, Harvey has proven himself to be a quiet and gentle soul. He would love a safe home with humans who will pet and love him and where he has cat friends.  He loves to be with others and is not a good alone cat.  It’s not known how Harvey is around dogs, but with a slow intro I’m sure this easy-going guy won’t take long to snuggle up with them, also.  He’ll need time outdoors this spring and summer with his family. He does like to go outside but he never wants to find himself alone again.  If you’re looking for a quiet, easygoing and affectionate boy then Harvey is your guy!

STONEWALL CHARLES JACKSON

Big hunkum 2 year old boy with a unique coat and harlequin face. Stonewall is his name and he’s not much of a rebel. He loves his people and hopes that someday he will have a family who loves his back.

Stonewall was raised with cats and dogs and was fine. And then he ended up in a home where the old cat chased him and tried to beat up on him and that was not good. So he’s recovering in a foster home and trying to adjust to the idea that other cats aren’t always mean.

Stonewall is truly a lover with his people and we think he will come around to feeling more relaxed with other cats when he’s had time to recover from being the picked on kid. His new home needs to be one with mellow, kind cats or dogs if there are other critters in the house. And he very much needs lots of love and reassurance from his people.

He’s ready for a great family who will welcome him and love him as much as he needs love. In Nikiski. Call or text 907 980-8898

MIA

Mia

Mia is an 11 year young Calico sweetie. She has shades of tortoiseshell colors in her coat. With the white highlights, green eyes,  and that white dash down her nose, she has a unique  beauty.
She loves sit on your lap and kneed like she’s making biscuits. She doesn’t mind other nice mellow kitties. We don’t know about doggies or kiddos but we think she’d be best in a settled quiet home. She’s shy, but quite playful once she feels safe. She’s got a bit of a cali-tude – she’ll let you know if you move too fast going in for a pet. Her foster says she is ‘such a sweet cat overall.”
She enjoys being in the yard on warm summer days so outside access is a requirement for this cutie.

WILEY

CUTENESS!

When you got it, you got it! There’s no denying that Wiley has it!

Look at that plume tail! Imagine that fluttering around your home on the end of the sweetest little gingery guy. What could be better? HUGS! He has lots of those to share too. And conversation. He’s happy to share quiet talks with his loved one.

Wiley is a darling little guy trapped outside as a stray. We don’t where his family is but they are missing out because he’s great. Give him some cuddles and someone to play with. And when summer comes a safe yard to play in, and right there is your dream kitty of the universe.

We think he’s a young boy, maybe a year or two old. Not sure how he is with other cats or dogs since he hasn’t been exposed to any while in rescue. But no reason to think he wouldn’t do just fine with mellow companions as long as you do a proper slow introduction. He’s wonderful!

Kepler was found as a stray in the valley. He clearly was someone’s cat because it didn’t take him long to declare that he was friendly and lovable. He is a sweet, curious boy who loves people. He is easygoing and confident and delightful in every way. He gets along well with the other cats in the house, okay with the mellow dog and he’s fine with kids. He’ll be the treasure of a good family.

AMINA

Amina is a velvety, petite girl. We think she is about 10 months to a year old.

She starts off shy with new people but all it takes is a little patience and some help from a kitty friend, and she learns quickly how to have fun. She will rub up against you for lots of pets and scratches. She is affectionate and and will hang out on the bed with her people at times. She’s happy to have HER people!  When she hears her human she’ll come chirping to you, especially if food is involved! Her purr and biscuit making are so soothing. She still have the lively fun of kittenhood and loves to play.  She even has a lucky thumb on her left paw, it’s extra large and is always giving you the thumbs up. She loves other cats so she will need to have a nice cat friend to play with and show her the ropes in her new home. She does fine with the toddler and the dog in the foster home so nice kids and mellow dogs would be okay.

This beautiful little girl is wonderful and so ready for a home with happy loving feline and kind, patient human family. She’s in Anchorage. Call 907 980-8898
