This solid hunk of burning love is ROCK STEADY!
He is blind.
We could call him a ‘special needs’ cat because of his blindness. But it doesn’t fit Rock at all. Blindness does not define him. He navigates the world with ease and with the most amazing confidence and joy.
This is what Rock’s foster has to say–
“He is the best cat ever—he loves everyone; when my friends come over, he always ends up in their laps. We have a lot of cats in our neighborhood so they are always in and out of our yard. I was very nervous about taking him outside but he loves it out there and has the entire back yard mapped out in his head. Now he goes out all the time- without me supervising him- and when he wants to come in he knows where the doors are at. Our one neighbor has a little black cat who spends a lot of time in our yard- and rock and the kitten really have fun together. Do not know how it would be if they were indoors.
The little one hides and rock smells or hears her-they never fight. Yesterday morning I saw him sitting on the grass with a bird about 4 feet away from him-both just sitting there.
He is amazing- he navigates so easily- if he bumps into something he just keeps going. He may be the smartest cat I have ever had. Blindness does not define him- it is not a handicap-he does everything a sighted cat does-except jump over the fence . If I were younger we would keep him forever. Everyone in the family loves him and he loves everyone back. Come winter and cold weather, I think he will be bored inside. Toys don’t really interest him- but he sure likes his food bowls.”
Rock might like a gentle cat friend. We don’t know for sure. But what we do know is that he is a very active, curious, and super intelligent boy who needs a family of his own. He may be 12 years old but he has lots of time to be some loving family’s best boy for years to come.
With people, this boy is a loving maniac. He LOVES people. He loves to be held, to be pet, to be cuddled, to be with you. He was clearly the beloved boy of his person till they had to leave for medical treatment. Now he has to find a new human to give his all to. And when he turns his love on you, you will be the luckiest person in the world.
